The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today, January 13, 2011...

Outside my window...it's deceivingly beautiful. We are the only state that hasn't had snow (Hawaii included), but it's 44 degrees and windy out. So yes, it's winter here too.

I am thinking...of my sister, who is making incredible strides in her quest for good health. Praying for her everyday.

I am thankful...for modern day medicine.

I am going...to stay home and do some laundry today. I don't want to be out in the cold. (Stop hating me Northerners).

I am wearing...a white sweater under a lavender button down shirt, jeans and brown flats with socks.

I am noticing...my cough has gotten much better, praise God.

I am currently...taking antibiotics to get rid of this sinus infection. I finally had to go to the doctor because I wasn't getting better.

I am reading...a chapter of Proverbs everyday, and Sturgeon on my Nook. I finished In His Steps - excellent read.

I am waiting...for a report to come in the end of this week. I'll post about it next week.

On my mind...lots of things.

From the learning room...FCAT exams are in April, so lots of reading to be done.

Around the house...the master bedroom needs a thorough cleaning. It's getting one today.

One of my favorite things...a warm and comfy home, especially when it's cold outside.

A few plans for the rest of the week...not much really. Just the usual stuff.

Here's a picture thought I'm sharing...this was taken in the parking lot of a local South Florida mall a week ago. Who says the leaves don't turn color here? It just happens in January instead of September!

I'm loving the snow!! I recently said on my blog how even with the arthritic knee pain when I walk in the cold, the beauty of being there when the snow is falling is unbelievable. And getting to walk around it now, at a regular pace, seeing the beauty of what it is ... it's almost indescribable. Breathtaking at times! I was so stressed before that I never noticed the seasons as they were happening; I only saw the ugly because of my own inner anger.

So I'll take the snow and I'll just keep right on enjoying it! :)
