The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today, January 18, 2011...

Outside my window...the fog has dissipated and the sun is starting to shine. The trees and plants are happy! After a day of non-stop rain they're getting plenty of sunshine. It's gonna be a beautiful day!

I am thinking...of too many things to write any one thought down.

I am thankful...for yesterday's rain. We really needed it!

I am going...nowhere today, other than pick up my son from school. Hubby took the car again. He says it's leaking oil, still. I just saw a small drop, but he's the one who's really on top of that stuff.

I am wearing...a navy blue t-shirt with the flag on it, jean capris and flip flops. Not your standard winter attire, but hey, I'm in South Florida, remember?

I am hearing...the clock ticking.

I am noticing...how tall my youngest son has gotten. It seems like he grows overnight! What has happened to my baby?

I am currently...getting ready to paint baseboards and doors. It's all I have left to do.

I am reading...my daily chapter of Proverbs, and According to Promise by Charles Sturgeon. It's remarkable to me how something written so long ago still rings true today.

I am waiting...on the Lord.

From the learning rooms...only 3 days of school this week. Yesterday was Martin Luther King Jr's birthday, and Friday is a teacher planning day. My son loves those!

Around the house...I got most of the laundry done, so I can focus on painting.

One of my favorite things...hearing good news from loved ones.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Awana tomorrow and Cub Scouts on Thursday. That's about it.

Wanna join in the fun? Visit Peggy at the Simple Woman's Daybook. God bless.

Arlene! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Yes, please send us some heat and warmth. By January 2nd I am always so tired of the cold and snow here in the Mid-West. I could go for a nice sunny day right about now!

Since you like hearing good news from loved ones, here goes: my doctor's scale showed a 24 pound loss since my last visit. And even though it's still +10 pounds on her scale, it showed I weight 290 ... it the first time she's seen me at under 300 pounds!! And my A1C levels are down from 6.5 in March 2010 to 6.1 in September. Can't wait to see what the new blood tests show! :-D
