Observing My Senses

For Today, July 28, 2012...

I am seeing...a bright sunny morning, and a palm frond coming down, reminding me that there are a bunch of palm fronds in the yard that need to be cut up and put in the garbage can.  They fell off after yesterday's rain.

I am feeling...rushed this morning.  E's dad called at 7:15am to say he'd be here to pick him up in half an hour.  Poor kid, he was startled out of his sleep.  The thing is, he'd asked his dad the day before what time he should be ready, and they'd agreed on 10am.  So E had no reason to get up early.  He begged his dad and convinced him to wait till 10am.  Of course, that doesn't change the fact that we're all jumpy now.

I am hearing...the dishwasher.  I forgot to turn it on last night.  Oops.

I am tasting...nothing yet.  Breakfast is cooking.

I am smelling...buttermilk pancakes.  My, but they smell amazing!  Sausages will be sizzling soon, and I have to get the coffee brewing.  This is why I love mornings so much!

It just takes a moment to observe your surroundings.  Won't you join me?

I am seeing ... rain, lots of it.
I am feeling ... raindrops, lots of them.
I am hearing ... rain, lots of it.
I am tasting ... water, which doesn't have a taste so nothing really. :)
I am smelling ... wet ground from lots of rain.

And these will probably be the responses for the rest of the week. Well, except for the tasting one ... I plan to have more than just water.
