Monday Quiz About Me

It looks like it's gonna be a rainy day in South Florida.  Very different from the dry weather we've been getting the past couple of weeks, but my plants are loving it!  Here's a fun blog hop - Heather at Acting Balanced provides 4 questions, then I get to ask one of my own for you to answer on my blog.  Are you up for it?  Here we go:

1. What is your favorite kind of soup?
I like most soups, but I'm very partial to lentil soup.

2. When was the last time you saw snow?
1986.  That's the year I moved to Florida and have not seen snow since.  There are moments when I wonder...but they don't last.  I like my snowless existence.

3. What is a must have trait if someone is going to live with you?
They must like my cooking.  I will not have anyone living in my house that doesn't like what I prepare.

4. Who was your favorite James Bond?
Hmm, it's a toss-up between Sean Connery and Roger Moore.  Sean Connery was a debonair Bond, while Roger Moore added a slightly humorous side to the character.

And now my question:

5.  Christmas trees:  real or artificial?
We had  real trees for years, and I kept noticing that my allergies would act up in November right after Thanksgiving and go away after New Years.  I finally had to accept the fact that the problem was the tree.  About 6 or 7 years ago we got our first pre-lit artificial tree, and while my daughter has complained about it every year, I love it.  It's almost time for a new one, though.  Most of the lights on this one have gone out, never to brighten our tree again. :P

artificial. The last time we had a real tree when was 37 years ago. Our daughter was a newborn and the tree was a fire hazard by Christmas Day. In terms of environment I think artificial is better.

I like artificial trees for the convenience but the real ones always look better and smell better.

We have a pre-lit artificial tree. Though I have yearned for the real deal, I can never justify the expense. Every now and then when extra money is available, I will get a small wreath to have the smell.

I love real ones for the smell. But having been married to fire dept for 22yrs, I've seen how fast and furious the real trees can go up in flames. Once educated, I couldn't feel safe with a real one in the house when my kids were young.

I have to say that the real thing is always better for me....I'm not really into artificial anything....
I love a good lentil soup too!

Artificial. The constant pine smell gives me a migraine.

artificial, less of a fire hazard and we can keep the lights on all day.

The artificial ones now are so much better than they used to be. No holes like you get in real ones, no needles on the ground. Don't have to worry about a fire hazard.

Real. I love the smell of a real tree but I do not put any tree up at all since it is just me.

Hi Arlene!

What a fun quiz!

Lentil soup and fresh rolls - yumm!

There is snow in my yard - about 2 inches worth!

I'm sure I would love your cooking!

I have an artificial tree too - same reason, allergies!!

Hugs,
Barb

Oh - I love Sean Connery - to me he's the only Bond!

We have an artificial Christmas tree. We used to have a real one, but it grew too big to bring into the house. The tree was cut down, however, when my parents had a new house built years ago.

I bought a very, very tall artificial tree that I just love! I can't wait to put it up.

I still remember the smell of a tree, but I use an artificial one now, and we do't have lights as we gave them away... so it is fairly basic.

I like real but it is not realistic with three kids in the house. Thanks for participating in the MQAM. Hope to see you again next week.

We never had a real Christmas tree, ever. Too expensive. Now that I am older, we don't "do" Christmas. I prefer Thanksgiving!
