For Today, February 28, 2012...
Outside my window...the sun has gone down, and the stars are shining brightly. It's a beautiful night.
I am thinking...of my children. Two are already adults, but in my heart they are still my babies.
I am thankful...that my daughter's professor cancelled her Thursday class so she can come home tomorrow.
I am going...to watch the Duggars in a little while.
I am wearing...my jammies. I cleaned the patio, then showered and got comfy.
In the kitchen...the leftover homemade pizza has been put away (it was delicious!) and everything's been cleaned up.
I am creating...a spotless clean home for my little girl to come home to.
I am wondering...what does Molly dream of when she sleeps? And let me just say, she's a deep sleeper. She's snoring right now, LOL!
I am reading...my devotional, my Bible, and that's it. I want to start reading again but I know once my daughter gets here I won't have a moment to sit down to read, so I'll wait.
I am hoping...the church carnival is a success. We want many people in the community to come in and be witnessed to.
I am looking forward to...12 days with my daughter at home.
I am learning...as much as I can about homeschooling. It's an option I've been thinking of for some time for my youngest son. With his dyslexia it may be in his best interests.
Around the house...I spent 3 hours cleaning and the house looks and smells incredible! It should be on the cover of Good Housekeeping magazine! All I need to do is give Molly her bath, clean her bedding, and clean up my daughter's room.
I am pondering these words..."Many who plan to seek God at the eleventh hour die at 10:30." - Anonymous.
A few plans for the rest of the week...my daughter comes home tomorrow, we have Awana tomorrow night, then this weekend is our church's Carnival. Lots of good things this week!

What Our Government Needs Today
"Gentlemen, I have lived a long time and am convinced that God governs in the affairs of men. If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? I move that prayer imploring the assistance of Heaven be held every morning before we proceed to business." - Benjamin Franklin [turning point of success for the 1787 Constitutional Convention]

Observing My Senses
For Today, February 25, 2012...
I am seeing...another bright and hazy sunshiny day, that's gonna be warmer than February should be.
I am feeling...excited about going to the Creation Discovery Museum this morning! I heard about it on the radio this week, and found out they're having Unleashing the Dinosaurs today. We are really looking forward to it!
I am hearing...cartoons, and the washing machine.
I am tasting...breakfast: scrambled egg, low sodium bacon, toast, and coffee.
I am smelling...breakfast smells.
It just takes a moment to observe your surroundings. Won't you join me?

Follow Friday Four Fill-In
My other fun obsession, is this Friday Fill-In. It gets my creative juices flowing, I guess. At least it assures me my brain cells aren't completely dormant ;). If you would like to give it a try, visit Hilary at Feeling Beachie.
1. I never ___ on a ____
I never shop on a weekend. At least I avoid it as much as possible. I don't like crowded places.
2. ___ is my favorite holiday
Christmas is my favorite holiday, definitely! I love love love decorating for Christmas!
3. I think my ___ is/are ___.
I think my children are the cutest in the world. What? No, that is a totally unbiased opinion.
4. When there is a ___ I ___.
When there is a sale I am the first in line - except on Black Friday. Ugh, I hate the crowds on Black Friday!
Five Question Friday
It's Friday! *Does tap dance* I love Fridays, but then, doesn't everyone? I'm hoping the Lord will bless some plans we're making for this weekend. In the meantime, here are my Five Questions for this Friday. If you want to try your hand at it, visit Mama M at My Little Life.
1. What's your favorite way to spend down time (alone or with a significant other)?
I like being at home, by myself, with a good book. Some tea to go with it would be lovely too, thank you very much.
2. Are you the kind of person that wants things more as soon as you know you can't have it?
Um, yeah *blushes*. I'm working on that not-so-desirable character trait, and learning to be content with what God has for me.
3. If you were given $1000 to spend on yourself, what would you buy?
Oh my. That's a lot of money to spend just on myself. My immediate thought would be to buy something for the home, because I live here, therefore it would be for me, but we would all enjoy it as well. Like say, a new couch. Or maybe I can invest in a new washing machine! That would be for me, right? Seeing as I'm the one washing the clothes. We could use it towards a couple days at Disney World or Universal Studios, and I would REALLY love that! I just don't think I could spend $1000 on myself and feel good about it. I like to share.
4. Do you ever go out to eat by yourself?
Not usually. The last time I did eat by myself was when I had my pupils dilated and I had to wait till I could see well enough to drive. I got hungry, so I went to the only place to eat at our Walmart, McDonalds :P. Not only did I have to sit there alone, I couldn't even read my Nook because I couldn't focus long enough with my pupils dilated. It was not fun.
5. What company would you want to do a blog review for?
Oh wow, I've never thought of that. Let's see, it would have to be one that I'd enjoy going through their website and seeing stuff, and where they might offer me some freebies...Kirkland's! I love their home decor, and if they gave me some stuff I know I'd be very happy! LOL!!

Thursday Thoughts
I did something today that I'd never done before. I cut the grass. It had been a month since our lawn had last gotten mowed, and it was starting to look like a jungle behind the house. I'd never operated the lawn mower, so I had to ask my oldest son R how to operate it. He emailed me detailed instructions on how to put gas in the tank, how to get it started, and how to work it. His instructions gave me the confidence to give it a try, and before I knew it I was working that machine like it was an old friend. In doing so, I came once again to the conclusion that men make a big deal about nothing. Using the lawn mower was no different that using a vacuum cleaner; less work, in the sense that I cut the grass and once I was done, I was done. When I vacuum our wood floors, I then have to mop them clean, which is double the work. Seems to me doing floors is a bigger chore and women complain about it less :P.
Of course I'm pretty tired now. The yard is over 8500 square feet, plus I also mowed the areas in front of the house. With that much grass to cut, it took me 2 full hours to get it all done. It's very warm out today too; while the humidity is low (thank the Lord!) it's still in the 80s, and even the breeze was warming up by the time I finished. Still, I feel great satisfaction knowing I was able to do this by myself, and did a good job of it.
Now, if I could only beat this allergy attack...

Kids Say Such Funny Things
Have you ever repeated something and thought, that just doesn't sound right? But you said it anyway, because that's what you understood, whether it made sense or not?
For Christmas my 12 year old son E got a card game called Monopoly Deal. It's similar to Monopoly, except it's a card game that takes way less than the 12 hours it takes to play original Monopoly. We often play it before bedtime.
Last night we were playing our second game of Monopoly Deal, after I'd one the first game. Being a bit competitive, E was trying his best strategy to win. As he picked up 2 cards, a smile came over his face with the knowledge he had the win. Eyes sparkling, he said, "Ha! Freedom and weak!" Puzzled, I said, "What did you say?" and he repeated to me, "Freedom and weak." That's when it dawned on me. I let out a chuckle and said, "No, it's Read 'em and weep!" LOL!!
