For Today, March 12, 2013...
Outside my window...it's pitch dark. Now that the time has sprung forward, 7am looks like it's the middle of the night.
I am thinking...did I do something wrong on my income tax? Is that why I haven't gotten my refund yet after almost 4 weeks?
I am thankful...to my God, that even without this refund we have money to pay bills and food in our pantry.
I am going...to take my son to school, then get my haircut.
I am wearing...my jammies. I'm making breakfast for my youngest son and I, then I'll get dressed.
I am noticing...that our dog Molly hasn't adjusted to the time change. She ignored her breakfast this morning. Must be too early.
In the kitchen...smothered pork chops and buttered noodles.
I am reading...my Bible and nothing more. I've got to get back to my book.
I am hoping...my income tax refund isn't being held because I messed up on my return.
I am looking forward to...the presentation at church this Saturday, The Story - The Musical. It's the story of the Bible, which is the story of Jesus. Perfect for this month of Easter.
I am hearing...my son getting ready for school while he watches Animaniacs.
Around the house...I got as much done yesterday as I could, but I need to clean the bathrooms.
A favorite quote of the day... “We may be statistics and numbers as far as the world’s computers are concerned, but we are precious individuals as far as our Shepherd is concerned. He knows his sheep personally.” - Warren Wiersbe.
One of my favorite things...getting my hair washed and scalped massaged by my hair stylist.
A few plans for the rest of the week...my haircut today, follow-up dentist visit for my daughter and Awana tomorrow, hopefully a trip to the mall to get my son some pants since he's growing by leaps and bounds, the play at church on Saturday. Busy week for me, folks.

Be patient about your income tax refund. It happened to us last year; we had to wait 6 weeks before we finally got a notice that it was "scheduled for deposit". Per our accountant, the IRS has been scrutinizing many returns during the past few years in an effort to stop identity theft and fraudulent returns; this will be happening every year in order to make sure no one else is filing in your name/SS#. This year it was your turn. If you itemize or claim education credits, the delay could be 2 to 4 weeks because they are also verifying that you should be taking those credits/deductions.
