Monday Quiz About Me
It's not even 8pm and it's pitch black outside - signs of seasonal changes. The day is coming to an end, so I better get my MQAM post in! With this blog hop, Heather at Acting Balanced gives 4 questions to answer, and the option to ask a fifth question of my own. Here I go!
1. How often do you shop for groceries? Do you shop in one place or many?
I go grocery shopping once a week, usually on Fridays. I like going early in the morning so there aren't as many people in the store. I go to our local Winn-Dixie for the sales, meats and produce. I shop at Costco for bulk items like toilet paper, coffee (what, you don't buy coffee in bulk?), and the like. Publix has the best deli meats so that's where I get my ham, cheese, salami, etc. The rest I get at Walmart. It seems like a lot, but the Winn-Dixie is right by my son's school, Costco and Walmart are a few blocks from each other, and Publix isn't far either.
2. How old were you when you had your first taste of alcohol?
I guess about 13, maybe sooner. My mom gave me wine to taste.
3. How much TV do you watch?
If by TV you mean network television, virtually none. I do enjoy watching movies on Netflix, along with old shows like Leave It To Beaver or The Andy Griffith Show. Now for the holidays we'll watch lots of Christmas DVD's on the television.
4. How do you relieve stress?
I find that taking a long walk while I meditate helps relieve stress. We have a park across the street from our house, and our neighborhood is quiet, so using that time for prayer and mediation helps relax me.
And now my question:
5. How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging July 2008, when we put our dog Tobey down due to illness. I was going through a lot during that time, and I found blogging to be a way to get my emotions down. It's been over 4 years now.
I'm first and foremost a Bible believing Christian. I'm a mother of 3, learning to deal with the changes God is doing in my life, learning to lean on Him and trust Him even when I don't understand, and learning to accept the changes He sees fit to accomplish His purpose in my life.
"I can't imagine anything more terrible than getting to the end of my life only to discover that God had so much more in mind for me - more freedom, more joy, more peace, more true effectiveness. And I had missed it all, simply because I refused to change." - Joanna Weaver, Having a Mary Spirit.
"In every change He faithful will remain." - Katharina von Schlegel
"Nothing paralyzes our lives like the attitude that things can never change. We need to remind ourselves that God can change things. Outlook determines outcome. If we see only the problems, we will be defeated; but if we see the possibilities in the problems, we can have victory." - Warren Wiersbe
