For Today, October 23, 2012...
Outside my window...it's an absolutely gorgeous day. Humidity is low, the breeze is sweet, it's the best time of the year.
I am thinking...about all the projects and schoolwork my son has been getting caught up with. He's finally done with all the work he was behind on.
I am thankful for...his teachers, who were compassionate and understanding and allowed my son E to turn in the work he couldn't get done when he had the flu.
I am going...to try and read in a little while.
I am wearing...a blue paisley print top, jeans, and flip-flops. It's 81 degrees, and despite a rain shower a few hours ago the humidity is down to 68%.
I am noticing...this headache (as if it could go unnoticed).
In the kitchen...we had steak with onions, white rice, black beans, fries, and broccoli. I say had because it disappeared very quickly.
I am creating...space in the dining room. It was looking cramped to me.
I am reading...Hurricanes in Paradise. I think I'll get it done this time.
I am hoping...the weather stabilizes so my asthma can go away. I'm keeping it at bay with aerosol treatments, but they give me headaches. With hot days and cool days and humid days and dry days and rainy days, my body gets confused and everything goes haywire. Once the weather gets more consistent I'll feel better.
I am looking forward to...meeting our (hopefully) new pastor. We've had an interim pastor for the past couple of years, and this Sunday the candidate that has been approved by the Pastoral Nominating Committee, deacons and officers will be preaching. The members will then have the opportunity to vote. God, of course, is in control. We are praying this is the man He would have to lead the flock.
I am hearing...Annoying Orange. It's a new cartoon. The kids think it's hilarious.
Around the house...I did floors yesterday and cleaned one bathroom today, but I'm trying to take it easy too, so my asthma doesn't flare up.
A favorite quote of the day..."Of two evils choose neither." - Charles H. Spurgeon. Interesting quote during a presidential election year.
One of my favorite things...being at home with my kiddos.
A few plans for the rest of the week...Awana tomorrow, no school on Friday due to a teacher's planning day so E and I will be working on his science fair project. Church on Sunday, meet Pastor Matt.
A peek into my day...I'm gonna be having some of this.

Every time E.D. sees something Pumpkin Spice, he says we should get it for you, even if it's something perishable ... he thinks that's funny. I've had to tell him numerous times that you've already eaten as much Pumpkin Spice Eggos as fits in the freezer. :P Did you know Jell-O has a Pumpkin Spice instant pudding mix?
Yes, I've been buying Pumpkin Spice jello for the past couple of years. I use it to make pumpkin spice cake, one of my favorites.
As for the Eggo's, I've got a couple of unopened boxes in the freezer. It's time to stock up again ;)
good quote, good quote
